A better world
Throughout his career, driven by a desire to create a world that’s better for everybody, Mohamed Amersi has used his position to contribute positively to society, supporting many charitable initiatives and social ventures.
After studying medicine and law at the Universities of Sheffield and Cambridge, then completing an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, he began his professional career as a corporate lawyer before going into business.
The Amersi Foundation, established in 2012, supports a vast range of global issues, including The Three E’s, We Are One, Our Futures, and many more. In 2018, it was honoured to receive the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award in recognition of its philanthropic work, joining an illustrious list of recipients that includes Melinda Gates, Jimmy Wales and Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
Multiple high-profile roles
Mohamed Amersi has worked closely with notable figures including The Prince of Wales, Kofi Annan, Kailash Satyarthi, Nadia Murad, Muhammad Yunus and many others.
He is a Fellow of Brasenose College, University of Oxford and is a member of the Development Board of the British Academy.
He also devotes his time to multiple further roles as a member of the Boards of Orb Media, Unchain, the Islamic Reporting Initiative, the Governing Council of the Royal Agricultural University, the Global Leadership Council of the Said Business School, University of Oxford, and the Global Advisory Board of the Oxford Foundry.
In addition, he is the Chairman of the iShia Foundation, the International Advisory Council of the British Asian Trust, a member of the Global Partners Council of the Institute of New Economic Thinking and a Trustee of Prince’s Trust International, the Royal African Society and the Rose Castle Foundation.
